How to get started with our digital patterns

Please note: when you order a sewing pattern at AMA WEAR, you receive a digital version (PDF) by email, not a paper one.
Write us an email with the name of the garment(s) you wish to make and we send you a zipped file that contains following: the sewing pattern, sewing instructions, a measurements chart, a size chart and pictures of the garment. The instruction includes information about the material you need. Print the pattern on A4 paper and stick the individual pages together, following the guidelines. Place the pattern on your fabric and cut out your size. Make sure you place the pattern on the fabric the right way up according to your asymmetry! Now you can start your sewing journey! Will you send us your feedback and a picture once you are ready? 💛

Measurements

Before you cut out your size from a sewing pattern, you need to measure your body while wearing normal, daily underwear, nothing baggy. The more accurate you measure, the better fits your self-made garment. You can measure on yourself, or ask someone to help you (and to make a fun session out of it – never enough laughter in life 🥂). Our drawing below contains instructions and space for your notes. Internet offers plenty of great instructions in written and as video, and of course in many languages. We selected two of our favourites, the instructions are clear and informative: Sewguide / Video: DIY with igho Please note that every fashion designer might handle another size chart, means S/M/L do not always fit the same. That’s why with our seing pattern comes the size chart on which the designer based the measurements.

Save image and  print on A4.
