During Breast Cancer Awareness month October 2025, our founder Barbara Pella had the honour of giving a guest talk at the office of Kenvue in Prague, streamed online so colleagues from different locations could join as well. It was a wonderful experience, and we are grateful to spread awareness regarding AMA WEAR’s goals among Kenvue’s people.
Barbara shared her personal story: her experience with breast cancer, how a unilateral mastectomy inspired her to found AMA WEAR, and why body positivity, mental health, and breast self-examination are at the heart of everything we do. She brought along samples of the fashion we design for women with one breast, a tangible expression of confidence, dignity, and individuality. And as a small goody, Barbara handed out candy jewelry, a reminder to never lose your inner child. ✨ Children have such good intuition, and listening to that inner voice can guide us through challenging experiences. It can even save lives.
It’s always powerful to witness how openness and personal stories connect us across borders, cultures, and experiences. And there’s still so much more to say about what it means to live with, through, and after breast cancer!
If Barbara’s story resonates with you or if you have questions (even very personal ones), please feel free to reach out to her directly via barbara.pella@ama-wear.com 💗
