Let's talk about BOOBS

Do you know what’s even better than fashion for people with one breast?
That you don’t need it at all because your breast cancer was discovered early enough and a mastectomy was not necessary*. Breast cancer doesn’t just affect other people… “OOPS! Why me?” Good preventative care is important for successful treatment. OOPS reminds you to take time for yourself and check your breasts regularly (for instructions see below). OOPS sparks conversations that lead to awareness. This is how OOPS spreads. Grab your bag, for yourself or as a gift for others. Available in white and coral. And please: if you discover something unusual in your body, don’t be afraid of what might happen if you go to the doctor. Better be afraid of what might happen if you don’t go!
*Depending on the type of tumor, removal of the affected breast may be necessary even with an early diagnosis.
Awareness & Empowerment

Barbara survived breast cancer, but lost one breast. It was more of a coincidence that she decided against breast reconstruction. Exhausted after four operations in seven weeks, she thought about having the reconstruction done later. In the meantime, however, she learned more and more about the options, side effects, and risks of breast reconstruction – information that she hadn’t learned from her doctors and that put her off. Above all, she realized that life with one breast is wonderful. The main thing is to live! With her guest talks, she encourages people to listen to their intuition. She advocates for body positivity – because we are beautiful, and it is precisely our imperfections that make us perfect. Finally the illness inspired her to found AMA WEAR, her own inclusive fashion label – a prime example of making a virtue out of necessity. Barbara talks openly and bluntly about how she found her way in Prague as a foreigner diagnosed with breast cancer. Her stories amaze, move to tears, make laugh.
Do you want to empower friends, family, colleagues, patients? Book Barbara for private meetings, companies, and conferences; online or in person. The talk can be held in English, Dutch, or German.
